1 noetiger Zwischenstop vor der Kalahari. Tanken, Wasserkanister auffuellen,Oel checken nochmals ausruhen vor den langen Autofahrten der naechsten 2 Wochen. Hatten ein liebes B & B unten am Fluss der Dattelmetropole Upington, ausserhalb Arabiens. vom Wuestensand rot gefaerbte Sonnenunter- u. Aufgaenge, friedliches Plaetzchen. Dinierten hier in 1 nach wie vor absolut leistbaren, absichtlich billiger gehaltenem, familiengefuhrtem Gourmet-Restaurant (entfernt von Schweizer Preisen), das landesweit Bekanntheit erlangte fuer seine eigenartigen...

Aug 22, 2010 - probleme

Ek ervaar nou 'n paar ernstige probleme met my blog! Eerste en ernstigste probleem: My man het amper 'n oorval gekry! Hoekom wil jy so iets doen? Wie sal nou belangstel om te lees oor ons reis? Dit lyk regtig niks-gewoond!! In my hart stem ek eintlik 100% met hom saam, maar ek kan nou myself nie keer nie. Ek wil net nog een inskrywinkie maak, en dan sal ek besluit. Dalk sal ek hoor wat Nelia van my blog dink, wonder of sy al gaan kyk het. En dalk sal ek maar net dat sy en Belinda en Karien en Gerjtie die adres kry. O ja, ek het dit klaar...

Jun 21, 2008 - Sterkfontein Caves

This morning I woke up early. I had breakfast at the Shishangeni Private Lodge's restaurant. The food was okay, but the view was incredible. There were zebras, giraffes, and elephants walking around outside of the restaurant. It was very nice to see all of these animals in the wild. After breakfast, we departed from the lodge and went to the Sterkfontein Caves. The Sterkfontein Caves are very fascinating. The first adult ape-man was found by Dr. Broom in 1936. There are many interesting fossils that are as old as 3.5 million years old....

Aug 7, 2005 - Day 84-85 Kalahari Gembsbok Park

No reason to ever come back to this park. I was not impressed at all the staff were horrible especially via phone. To get to the park you have to travel on 60 km of washbored road very uncomfortable after the 2 hour drive just to get to the park from the last town. When you get to the park guess what more washbored and if you are in a smaller vehicle you cant see anything because it is so deeply grooved down that you are 3 feet lower than all the land around you. We did see a ton of ostrich, meer cats and mongoose including some very nice...
