Oct 31, 2006 - Ho Namibia!
An early start let to a 2-hour boondoggle when I missed R46 to Ceres and instead headed back for the coast. I realized my mistake and turned back through the drizzle and got my bearings. The only saving grace was the spectacular wine country - a beautiful valley flanked by small rocky mountains, dotted with vineyards. I made it to Paddagang in Tulbagh - my original destination for breakfast - around 12:00. I had Chicken with Waterbloomfljeteinschkloppen (I can't remember the Afrikaans word, but it was something that meant "water blossom"...Jump to full entry

Wine Tasting and a great guesthouse a little cold but nice. three wineries today the drosdy-hof was a all time favorite of all wine experiences. After a tour through the museum upstairs they opened some fresh bottles for us to try downstairs in the old prison below. It was very cool and lit completely by candlelight. They opened 9 bottles of wine and left us to our own responsible tasting adventure. It was a very cool experience rustic and romantic.
