Mar 1, 2008 - First stop...Sabie!
Once we were united with Kate and Geoff, we set straight off for our first South African stop - Sabie, a really nice town on Drakensberg Escarpment. About a 3 hour drive, we enjoyed great views along the way and our first South African breakfast - yummy! It was great to kick back and let Kate and Geoff take the reins - we lay back and enjoyed the ride!!! We arrived into Sabie and at our accommodation for the next couple of days - the Floreat Lodge. Jul 26, 2005 - Day 72 Hazeyview
After a long drive and about 90 Rand ($13 US) in Toll roads We made it just outside of Kruger Park. We chose entering from the west side near Kruger Gate, and stayed at a backpacker lodge that even had an accessible room. You can not enter Kruger park because all the gates are closed at 6:00 pm and open again in the morning at 6:00 am. Thus we stayed just outside the park at Gecko Backpackers in Hazeyview. It was very nice plus a good little party with some people who were on Vacation from Holland. They were even telling of their excitement...Jump to full entry
Jan 20, 2005 - Safari
Søndag 16. januar var det klart for 5 dagers safari tur med "Drifters". Turen gikk fra Johannesburg via Drakensberg og "Pilgrims Rest" til Krüger Nasjonalpark. Vi var 12 stykker som forventningsfulle satte oss inn i Safari-trucken (se bilde) med kamra rundt halsen, klare for å "knipse" alt fra maurer til løver. Men det gikk ikke lange stunden før den eneste lyden som hørtes i bilen var "zzzzzz". Det var en trøtt gjeng som hadde vært oppe siden kl.05.30. Og det var jammen bra at setene var så gode, for det var mange timer som ble tilbrakt i...Jump to full entry
