We saw Table Mountain as we woke up this morning to a clear day in Cape Town - Cape Town when it is best !. We had agreed to meet with Rikka and the kids and Carrol was so kind to tag along to meet in Simon's Town. From there we headed down to Cape Point and did the long walk - Amazing nature and scenery. From the Point we went down to the Good Hope - I believe this was the target of this expedition and we have made it. KM's on the car shows 8.700 by now. May 7, 2011 - CAPE POINT

Hello! Today we traveled to Hout Bay, a place with tons of cape fur seals, Cape Point (or Cape of Good Hope. Whatever you prefer), and Boulders. At Hout Bay, we took a boat out into the rough seas to go spot some seals. It was REALLY windy so the waves were high. I got pretty wet. It was fun to watch the fur seals dive into the water from there perches on the rocks. Cape Point is the southern-most point in south-western Africa. It was the windiest place I've ever been to. Oct 11, 2009 - Cape Point

My last pre planned point of the trip, not the most southerly point as that was earlier, but to Cape Point. Its here that a lighthouse was built to warn ships of the danger, its also a notorious place for shipping disasters,as the Atlantic,and Indian Oceans meet here.Despite my entry yesterday of not travelling on trains, well I have to eat my words, as there is a Swiss Funicular up to the top, how could I resist.
