Today was very relaxing. Sitting on our beds on the train. Standing in the corridor on the train. Watching the views sail past. A few stations where we had time to explore the station platform for a few minutes. At Krasnoyarsk a bus load of children spotted Gordon and myself walking along. They realised we were from another country and the whole bus load of children madly waved excitedly at us, until we were out of sight. Hello Everyone, Today I went to Russia and it was so much fun. I went to Mount Elbrus is was phenomenal it is the highest peak in Russia. I also learned that there are a lot of volcanoes in Russia I can not remember how many volcanoes there are in Russia. I think it was about 124 volcanoes in Russia and about 26 are active. Although I can't remember how many volcanoes there are in Russia I still remember one of the names of the volcanoes it is called Anaun. This journey to Russia was my first and last day in Russia. All Around Peru

Apr 15, 2005 - Novokuznetsk to Biysk

The bus ride from Novokuznetsk to Biysk is one of those experiences which reminds one of just how vast Siberia really is. Of course the train rides do that too, though I take most of those in overnight hops so lose any real sense of distance. Anyway, this particular route is notable in that it rolls up and down hills, rollercoastering ad infinitum.
