May 27, 2006 - Kaikoura - in pursuit of Moby Dick

We were cursing the weather in Queenstown for making us abandon our plans for jet boating, rafting and skydiving. However, everything happens for a reason and now we have a spare day to play with and we just happen to be on the North East coast of the South Island - home to NZ's famous Sperm whales. There's no way we're going to miss this so we wake up at 5am and set off the 50km from Chevlot to Kaikoura. They open at 7am and the first tour is at 7.40am. Should we go to the counter in waterproofs and holding large harpoons and say were here...

Mar 9, 2005 - Volunteer Conservation - Hutton Shearwater colony establishment

The video should be available soon (and will be shown to local residents). Alas the bit with me talking is included.
