Sylvia’s Comments The weather forecast for today is for it to be fine in the morning and then to rain by lunch time. As we are planning to do the 31/2 mile walk from the campsite on the Cook Cove Walkway, an early start was planned. We got an earlier start than we bargained for when a spraying plane was using the field right behind the campsite as a refuelling depot before taking off and landing on a fairly regular basis from first light. Feb 4, 2006 - Nuhiti

Vix and Si have a little piece of paradise just north of Gisborne! This place is seriously gorgeous and soooooooooo relaxing. As the Eriksen's had a wedding on the Sat night - Ax, Kirst, Squat-boy and myself got to enjoy the bach and set up for their arrival on Sun morning. Lots of eating, gossing around the fire and many an atempt at Crayfish resulting in 3 little ones on the last morning.

Jan 27, 2006 - Ohope bay to Tolago bay

Another beautiful day of riding. The coast road was good, but in areas there had been washouts due to the storm. The highway crews mark everything very well. I'm sure they are out of 'slow to 30km' and 'end of construction- thank you' signs. Tolago bay was very beautiful. We had beer and dinner on the beach and watched the kids body surfing in the very cold, sandy surf.

Aug 29, 2005 - Tolaga Bay

Just north of Gisbourne, the east cape has been fantastic. A thank you Pihi, Joe and Brian your backpackers are brill. Went fishing and caught and couple of snapper and a blue cod. They were cooked and eaten that day. Also enjoyed crayfish, octopus and sea urchin.
