Allo Famille Zé Amis, Avant hier, j'ai atteint le Cap Reinga. Beaucoup de km depuis Auckland et côted !!! L'endroit le plus au Nord de la NZ. Des déccords et végétations tropical avec un climat qui ne correspond pas pour le moment. Il faut dire qu'il commence leur printemps ici. Le plus chaud est a venir, il auront plusieurs mois bien chaud et avec pluie regulièrement. Il y a des plantations d'avocats et autres fruits tropical, comme oranges, clémentines... Apr 19, 2007 - Hourora Heads/Cape Reinga

When we left Paihia we had the long drive to do up to the very northern most tip of New Zealand, Cape Reinga. We decided to spend the night in Hourora Heads about an hour and a half from the cape. So we dropped off all our gear there on the way up and then after a a bit of lunch we headed on up north. The road up there is state highway 1 and fine, but for the last 20k's or so the road is unsealed. Feb 11, 2007 - Up to the Far North...The Aupouri Peninsula

I dropped Sumit and Dave off at the bus near the Bay of Islands, and headed still further north to cape Reinga. It was a wonderful drive (as all drives in New Zealand have been so far) and I made several stops along the way. The first was at Matai Beach, an isolated reserve way out on the coast. I have started getting into the habit of just turning down roads and driving to the end. It's paid off so far in spades! From there I continued on to the cape and out to Waipapakauri Beach.
