Jan 19, 2006 - Kaitaia - 90 Mile Beach, Cape Reinga and Kauri Trees

K: After a tiring drive we arrived in Kaitaia we booked ourselves into the worst hostel yet. So bad in fact Ben splurged $2 to get me another sheet so I could separate myself as much as possible from the bed. The colour sceme and quality of painting was beyond belief (in a bad way) and the roof also had a skylight directly over the bed with no curtain to block out the light so we were awoken early by a shaft of sunlight. But it was a stopping off point to travel along 90 mile beach and to go to Cape Reinga. B: We were booked on the bus tour...

Jan 14, 2006 - Auckland - Kaitaia

So, der 1. Bustag stand an. Oct 7, 2005 - Awanui 071005 (is)

Feb 17, 2005 - Surfing the North Island of NZ

After safely returning the car I headed back North again for a 5 day surfing trip. The sandy beaches of the far North Island were perfect for the beginner. I have finally figured out how to predict which way the wave is breaking and actually try to put it into practice. thank goodness for ibuprofen as I have bruises, scrapes and scratches everywhere. We spent 5 days surfing some of the finest beaches on the north coast. There was only 7 of us and although we did relax at night the focus on this trip and the focus was more about surfing and...
