Hi Everybody, Well we are having such a good time here. the scenery is amazing!! Today we were again up bright and early to head back to Christchurch. New Zealand 2006

Apr 1, 2006 - Day 74 Update - Christchurch

We awoke around 9am as we had to check out but we were feeling a bit worse for wear so we checked out with reception but went back to the room and enjoyed a few more hours in bed. We left Queenstown at 2pm along with a guy named Richard who was sharing a room with us, he had twice missed his bus to Christchurch due to hangovers so he ended up chipping in with the petrol and sharing the 6hr drive with us. We arrived in Christchurch at 8pm and checked into the hostel we stayed on a previous visit. We didnt do much that night except watch some...

Feb 6, 2006 - Queenstown to Christchurch

Hey. There really is not much to say about this entry. I went from Queenstown to Christchurch and we made a few short stops during the trip (which was very long). The most interesting thing about the journey was the change in scenery. The road is winding through a single mountain pass and after that it's mostly downhill and pretty boring flatlands. Soon I'll post an interesting entry about Christchurch. Finaly a big city ;-) See you soon Soeren

Jan 18, 2006 - Back in Christchurch.

Here we are back in Christchurch, where our flight leaves New Zealand. But we've still got a few days left yet. On the 20th, we're going back up to Kaikoura to attempt the swim with Dolphins again...hopefully we'll have some more luck this time! We're just dossing around at the minute. Went to the International Antarctic Centre and stood in a windchill room where they dropped the temprature to -18 C (there's no degree's sign on a computer!). But I didn't find it that unbearably cold actually... Tan is coming along nicely now, will have to...

Gone Gallivanting

Jan 8, 2006 - The Mother Ship

"Is it my turn to drive yet"? I've been entertaining the question for nearly a month now and I've run out of reasons and excuses... I don't think she believes me when I tell here that I get sea sick (road sick?) when I sit in the passenger seat, especially with the way the roads are laid down in New Zealand. Eventually though, my rope had to run out. Today was the day. After enduring countless attacks pointing out that I am a control freak (well that part is true) and a sexists bast#$% who won't let women drive (that one's not true), I had...

Jan 4, 2005 - What New Zealand is Like

Today we found out what New Zealand really looks like. There were sheep everywhere. to be exact, there are 65,000,000 sheep in New Zealand. The men on the Lincoln Campus all played Cricket, a game like Baseball and golf combined. Everything was green and plants that looked similar to palm trees were all over. We found out what foods the locals eat. They ate pork, beef, lamb, and kiwi fruit. It was raining all morning but later the temperature was 21C. Tonight there will be a be a Welcome BBQ for us, our hosts, the students and the...

Dec 21, 2004 - Au Revouir NZ

So after chilling out at Lochmara we decided to give whale whatching in Kaikoura another go, but quelle surprise the weather had other ideas and we ended up spending our 2nd night in Kaikoura in the pouring rain, it seems that it wasn't meant to be this time round, guess we'll just have to go for 3rd time lucky next time we come to NZ. Undaunted we pushed on down the coast to try our luck at swimming with the dolphins in the beautiful Akaroa.....guess what, more storms! and no chance of swimming with the little fella's, oh well maybe in...
