Feb 17, 2007 - When the Lemon Gives You Juice...Make Lemonade!

While we were sitting on the side of the road, I'd heard about a Cultural Fair on the radio, and set off to see if I could catch the tail end of it. It was basically winding down, but I saw some Thai dancing , and tasted some local mussel fritters. Reilly on the Road

Jan 7, 2007 - Whakatane

This morning we headed off a bit earlier than yesterday but figured we had more distance to travel and the roads can be very time consuming. That they were as well. Mardo was our farm trainee back in the 1980's and now lives in Alberta. It was such a delight to meet his sister and later in Auckland, his neice, Marie. You can imagine the stories that were told! They live in a beautiful place overlooking White Island (an active volcano)...

Jan 6, 2006 - Dolphins...

Well our swimming with Dolphins experience was less than brilliant! We went out, all wet suited up and the weather was a bit rubbish, got throw around like rag dolls in this baby boat! It'd slam down on after going over a wave (really hurts your bum!) and slosh around the rest of the time! The 'skippper' didn't find any dolphins, even though he'd been telling us there had been pods of 200+ for the past few days. We did however see a few Orca Whales (sounds a bit like Orc...hmm Lord of the Rings everwhere!) A baby Orca came right up to the...
