Later in the day we then continued over the gorgeous Crown Range Rd, a very narrow, twisting and turning mountain road but we had fantastic views of the lush valleys and foothills. As we came down the otherside of the mountain were met by a breathtaking view of Lake Wanaka. We did a short walk up Mount Iron where we had stunning views over the town, Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea before ending the evening with a dinner out as a treat for David's birthday.

Hi All, So now that I have some extra time on my hands I'll give a bit more of an update of what's been going on in the wonderful world of Jonesy.... As the photo's suggest, it hasn't all been work work work, however that has been a large part of it (bummer that). This year has been the busiest yet for TC, with great snowfall and even better weather. Jonesy's Journey

Nov 22, 2004 - Wanaka

We split the driving to Wanaka and get there without too much hassle. It's another stunning lakefront location and is only a 10 minute walk into the centre. There are about 4000 permanent residents there so the town is quite small. We go for a walk about but spend the evening in. The next day we walk along the lake, trying to find a place called Albertown but we get bored and turn back, walking past town and attempting to find a winery.
