Slept really well last night so felt much more human today! We got up and had a leisurely breakfast and got showered and packed up. We headed back to the forest to see it in daylight. Its a great place with some very impressive trees - there is the largest Kauri tree recorded there which is supposed to be about 2000 years old! Driving on up the coast we found a great lookout at Pakia Hill with stunning views of the bay. There were more tame chickens here so that was amusing! Think they have all been spoilt by tourists as they immediately...

Bridget's Trip!

OK finally found somewhere that has a card reader - so be warned if you come out here BRING YOUR OWN. Trying to catch up as today is Monday 14th April. Anyways, woke up to yet more blue sky and sunshine - hope your weather back home is as good. Left motel and drove to Waitangi Treaty Grounds, just north of town. Saw a show called "Memories of Time", which is a performance by 3 maoris telling how NZ was formed, and then how it was found by a Polynesian explorer.
