From Franz Josef we have a long driving day up through the south Island. We unfortunately have only 10 days total before the wedding we will attend in the north Island, and of course want to see as much as possible en route. Driving north, we follow a winding coast road with steep drop offs on either side, and then east through a gorge and forests and eventually into the vineyards of the Marlborough wine region. We pick up some wine on our way through and then keep driving and by 7pm reach a small town called: Havelock. We park our car at...

Jan 28, 2008 - Tinker Bell

well, no photos as yet of this evening's adventure. kayaking in the dark. woo. a bit freaky BUT the really cool bit is the phosphoresence in the water. makes you look like tinker bell waving her wand. little shooting stars all over the place and the jelly fish end up having the lights in them too so then the jelly fish light up.

Nov 26, 2007 - Hopewell

Well, since I've been here I've seen a dolphin while kayaking, penguins swimming around, a really large eagle ray and a purple nudibranch (plus millions of jelly fish). I have pictures but the internet is just too damn slow here to post them. too bad for you and good for me so i won't spend my time sitting here uploading pictures.
