Sep 21, 2006 - Dusseldorf, Seuren and Eindhoven
I was up early to go to Dusseldorf and do my Working Holiday Visa Application. I went with Maud, Guus's sister, and she dropped me off near her work which was on the way to where I had to go. I walked all the way down in the direction I thought it was and finally came to a T intersection and the next road in my directions was nowhere to be found so I decided I'd gone the wrong way and turned around and walked to the other end of this street. Quite a large street I might add, it took me about 45mins to walk to the other end and when I got...Jump to full entry
Sep 10, 2006 - Breakfast in Belgium
Good morning all, Ken Here, reporting on our day in Amsterdam. Having docked close to downtown, Judy and I chose to follow our noses instead of booking a tour. We purchased all day passes for transit then proceeded to ride the rails. All of a sudden it was the end of the line and we had to exit and catch another tram. By this time our location was not on the map so by guess and by golly we hopped aboard the next tram and continued our scenic tour of Amsterdam. Hey, that looks like an open air market. So it is. Stroll, stroll buy, stroll,...Jump to full entry
Sep 2, 2006 - Who's the Champion?!?
Well it was off with the yellow and black crew - TISWA! This is the band that I have been playing with the last year and thoroughly enjoying it!! Today is our day that we get to do all kinds of fun things and at the end a BBQ - yummy! We started our day at 8:15am (for those of you who know me well this is an ungodly hour - especially on a Saturaday!!) and we were off to play Robin Hood! Thus we first had to learn to shoot with a bow and arrow. Me being the mixed up person I am was shooting with a righthand bow and trying to aim with my left...Jump to full entry

Aug 10, 2006 - Holland - Geldrop Day 1
After a sad farewell we left Berlin and Melissa behind us as we set off for Holland via Hannover back to Tony's Brother and family. Today was a stark reminder that our holiday is coming to an end, as Pete and Maryanne's is the last stop before we head to Amsterdam and then leave Europe for good. This was also to be the last time we use the camper as we will now try to tidy it up and get it ready for resale. About 120kms from Pete and Maryanne's we noticed a shudder in the van and after going another 10kms or so it got much worse. Stopped...Jump to full entry

Jul 22, 2006 - Rens Birthday
After a big night and being woken up about 7am because Patty had to go to work back in Venlo [an hour train ride away], we went home and had a restful day before heading out to Kaatsheuvel for Rens 25th Birthday. I did manage to get an email to Andy for his birthday and a message to Dad for Jade's birthday [which I dont think arrived] before 4pm here which is midnight there so I didnt miss them too. Kaatsheuvel is about an hour from here so we drove out and "fashionably late" but I think we were "fashionably early-late" because people were...Jump to full entry
Jun 29, 2006 - Holland - Eindhoven
Up very early today (3.45am) as we had a 7.00am flight to Holland and were not sure how busy it would be at the airport. Good thing we were there early as it was very hectic and by the time we had booked in, there was little time left before our flight boarded. The flight over to Holland only took about an hour and was wonderful as we got to see much of the English countryside before crossing water and seeing the Dutch countryside. It is so good to finally be here with Tony's brother Peter, his wife Maryanne, and their three children, Luke...Jump to full entry
Jun 29, 2006 - Week 21 - Nederland
* (KtH) After working half a day on Monday, I made my way with my backpack straight to Newark airport by bus. All was ok until I arrived at Schiphol without my luggage. I was suppose to meet Darlene, Allan, Ced and Avril somewhere in Amsterdam but I had no idea where. I had counted on being able to access my email account at the airport but, as I reported my missing luggage, I was told there was no internet access at the airport. WHAT! Part of my missing luggage report asked for an address to send the luggage to. This address was on an...Jump to full entry
Jun 16, 2006 - Day 149 Update - Cologne
We woke up and heard that the campstie was eviciting everyone as they had finally realised there were a load of people staying without paying. We packed up allour stuff and left which was a bit annoying as we had wanted tostay here one more day and move later. As our money had all but virtually gone Jason decided it was time to end the journey and go home. We all went to Frankfurt station where Chris adn Victoria headed to Cologne for the last England game and Jason caught the train to London via paris.Jump to full entry
