Mar 27, 2014 - Den Haag & Rotterdam

May 1, 2013 - Den Haag or The Hague

We were not sure what to expect when visiting Den Haag or The Hague. Driving in was quite easy and we were now learning that following the signs “P Route” brought you to the car parks. As usual there was road works around but we found our way to the “centrum”. After finding the information centre and getting a map of the centre we started our exploration. You could tell by walking through the shopping street that this was a well healed town with some very up market shops. The skyline is a mixture of old and new with some towering...

Aug 19, 2008 - A Sleepy Capital

Day 37: Capital of The Netherlands - Den Haag From Amsterdam we took a Tram to the train station and were able to catch a train as soon as we arrived! Which meant that we got to Den Haag (The Hague) at 10:30, even after taking our time in Amsterdam this morning :) Bonus. Our hostel was only a quick 5 minute walk from the train station. After dropping off our luggage (too early to check in), we headed back to the train station to rent some bikes. Seriously, if you ever go to the Netherlands you have to plan on spending a lot of time on bikes...

Jun 5, 2008 - What day is it?

I'm here! Well, I actually arrived yesterday but I was only half-here then. After a good sleep last night I'm feeling almost normal. Unfortunately, Christian had no coffee in his apartment, so I scrounged through his cupboards looking for some tea and found a giant bag of Lipton ICE tea - okay, in a pinch for something hot and caffinated - the brewable ice tea works just fine. I enjoyed a lovely cuppa with my Dutch raisin bun for breakfast this morning. Yesterday, I strolled around the downtown area of Den Haag on the main walking street,...

Sep 13, 2007 - Amsterdam & Den Haag

Thursday, 13 September, Amsterdam / Den Haag Checked out of the hotel and made our way back to the main train station, where we caught a train to Den Haag, which is about 45 minutes Northwest of Amsterdam, and is where the NDT (National Dance Theatre) is located. It's a company for which CindyMarie would have loved to have danced if her career had taken any path other than the one it did. It's also the company for which her long lost friend, Lesley Telford, dances. Upon arrival, we found the NDT studios, which aren't that far from the train...
