Aug 20, 2019 - Damaraland to Etosha NP

Left early to try and get to Etosha as early as possible. Arrived about 10am and went on what was supposed to be an introductory game drive. We actually left the park early as conditions were not great for game viewing - windy and dusty. However, we saw giraffe, elephants, wildebeest, springbok, plains zebra, and 2 lionesses after a feed

Dec 26, 2007 - Boxing Day - Kamanjab - Outjo

Boxing Day and we are driving from Kananjab to Outjo and then on to Etosha National Park for a game drive before heading back to Outjo. What a day! Much too long! We noticed warthogs, springboks, giraffes and kudus. Our truck stopped along the road to Outjo when our driver noticed a kudu lying in the ditch with his hind legs caught in the barbwire fence. The boys in our group exited the truck carefully to see if they could help the animal. They managed to untangle the poor thing and coax it to stand up after giving it some water. Our guide...

We met our tour leader, Sharon, and our fellow travelling companions at our pre-departure meeting the night before we left. There are 17 people in total and so far we are extremely happy with our guide, our group, the staff and our activities thus far. There are 2 other crew members, Steve, our driver and Hesben, our fabulous cook! These 2 guys are from Kenya and are...

Mar 6, 2006 - Namibia and my new love

Namibia - the ends of the earth....or somewhere close to it. Ok everyone, i have some disgusting news...nay, maybe even bad news. I have officially drank a full beer by myself. Yes, i have enetered THAT realm of life. HAA Actually as I was traveling with Frank we would drink these things that are (i guess) called a Shandy. Its when you drink a sprite and a beer. (at some of the places we traveled to, namely Nepal,it was the only thing to drink.) So i guess that sort of eased me into not minding the taste of beer so much. So there I am, i...
