Early departure time this morning as we have 8 hours of driving today travelling towards the Botswana border. We stopped in the city of Windhoek for lunch. Tonight we're staying near Gobabis at Zelda's Guestfarm, a private wildlife farm dedicated to the protection of big cats. Upon arrival we did a game drive with our guide Boots and saw wildebeest, hartebeest, nyala and zebra in their natural environment. Dec 29, 2007 - On our way to the Botswana Border

Leaving Windhoek we picked up three more people to join us and dropped off three from the first part of the tour. Once this was done our short drive today had us heading east towards the Botswana border. We stayed in the Sand Dune Lodge just outside of Gobabis. Gobabis (place of discussion) lies on the banks of the Nossob (black river). It is a vast ranching district that had its origin in 1856 as the site of a Rhenish mission station.
