Early flight to Mandalay this morning so up at 5.00am. Flight slightly delayed. 90 min flight and they served us some sandwiches (filling unknown) and cream cake for breakfast. Fortunately there was also tea and coffe to wash it down. Picked up from the airport in a toyota "people mover" for what is quaintly described as a scenic overland drive. Interestingly most cars here are Japenese imports with the steering wheel on the right hand side, but they also drive on the right hand side which makes overtaking quite interesting especially...

Feb 10, 2008 - Pyin OO Lwin

Mmmm, refreshing change from the loud stinking city. I never really realized it until I left. My days in Pyin OO Lwin were spent sleeping in, enjoying relaxing breakfasts in the beautiful garden, wandering, then relaxing over tea, eating the most delicious diner for under $0.50, and running back and forth to the internet to see if I was as an auntie yet. Is she ever gonna arrive? From what I hear from mom and dad, I don’t blame her for waiting. Damn you guys are in the middle of a long cold snap. Sorry to hear, glad to be here. HeHe....
