Well, not a post I was hoping to write but I have been struck down overnight by a bug so spent the day in bed, Stuart joined the group to Sri Ksetra, which is an archaeological area. It has recently been given World Heritage status by UNESCO. It predates Angkor Wat but most of it has gone, hence the ongoing research and digs. The group went into town and to visit another Stupa. Stuart kindly stayed with me! Hope things improve tomorrow!

Nov 1, 2015 - Election Fever on the way to Pyay

Leave at 7am as we have a long journey to Pyay, 285 Km due to take us 6 hrs - in fact the journey becomes over 9 hrs! Having left the suburbs, without any traffic issues, we head out northwards and our first stop is at The Tankyan War Cemetery. One of the only two Commonwealth Graves cemeteries in Burma. Over 6,300 soldiers and a handful of airmen are buried here. 27,000 missing are listed on the monument. As always it is beautifully maintained and very sobering.
