Road trip to Bago. On the waywestopped at the Taukkyan War Cemetary, the final resting place for WWII Allied soldiers who lost their lives fighting during the Burma and Assam campaigns. There are 27,000 names etched on the columns and 6,000 headstones. This is one of the three war cemeteries maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. We stopped at a roadside pottery shop where they sell rice alcohol with scorpions and giant millipedes. It is used for medicinal purposes either by drinking or rubbing on the skin! May 30, 2013 - Day 12 Pegu (Bago)-Yangon

We returned to the summit with John & Gerrie to take more photos & also because John hadn't gone up yesterday.At 9am we met the truck for our ride down the mountain.There's always one in the bunch (this time two),Mik & Tony had to stand up on the front seat so that they could crane their heads over the truck's cabin so they would get a better view! Ha! nobody else thought it was a very smart move considering the speed & the road we were travelling-at times they had to duck down to avoid being hit by trees low bridge! this time they squashed...
