Today we arose bright and early at 6 AM and did our laundry. We met with the rest of the group at about 845 and walked into town for breakfast burritos at yokolicious. We all order burritos and Annie ordered. a medium order of garlic fries to go along with everything else we were eating just in case it wasn't enough. It was very good and after breakfast we walk through Yokosuka for a little shopping. Kelly decided she wanted a set of navy fatigues so we went to the NEX which turned out to be the wrong place. Jun 24, 2016 - Change of Command

Today was the big day. We walked over to the hospital around 815 and had croissants fruit and other light breakfast treats. We met the Japanese admiral who is in charge of the Japanese medical self-defense force hospital. Admiral Gillingham was present as well as other dignitaries. After approximately a half an hour we were escorted to the van and driven to the auditorium. We had VIP seats in the front row of the auditorium and we were witnesses to a navy change iof command ceremony. There were over 300 people present in the auditorium. The...

Japan 2016

Jun 23, 2016 - Second day in Yokosuka

Woke up around 4 AM and watch television of it was time for breakfast. Met Duke at the galley in the hospital for breakfast and then Denise and I went to the personnel section to get a new ID card for her. After two and a half hour wait we successfully obtain new ID card. It rained heavily this morning and we both got soaked. After the ID cards we went back to Tony's room and met up with Kelly and Danny and went to the club for lunch. After lunch we came back to the room and took a nap. Japan 2016

Aug 21, 2004 - The End and the Beginning

Today is our last full day in Japan for a while. Tomorrow we will ride a variety of trains and busses to arrive at Narita Airport for our flight to India and the great unknown. We are feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves at this new adventure. The next message will be from India. MAE
