We woke up and had breakfast at the Route Inn Ishinomaki Chuo (Central). We still had the van from Tuesday's trip into town. After eating and shaking off the cobwebs, we got in and rumbled up the street to Hiyoriyama, the mountain that casts an afternoon shadow on my old apartment, keeping it slightly cooler than the rice fields of some of the rest of town. Apr 20, 2016 - We're off to see the wizard...

We're Off to See the Wizard... Steve to Dad, walking back to the hotel, after returning the rental van. "It's still early, want to go out for a few drinks?" Dad to Steve: "That would be fun, but we have an early getaway tomorrow and it's getting late." (8:30; insert jokes here.) A few minutes later as the boys rejoin the ladies in the hotel lobby, Kathy says "Steve and I are going out for drinks, who wants to come!" As previously stated, Steve gave succinct instructions to our cab driver, who in turn confirmed that he understood our destination. When he dropped us off on a street with restaurants and bars we did not question the cab driver (couldn't anyway as he did not speak English!). When Steve suggested we go to one of his favorite night spots, all three girls thought Steve instructed the driver to drop us off there . . . not realizing our destination was the train station, and that we would all walk together from there.
