On Monday we boarded a one car train to the famous ceramics town of Imari. Our unofficial guide for the day was David Rumsey. A Canadian who'd lived in the area for many years. In planning this trip I had come across his blog about Okawachiyama the "village of secret kilns" located in the hills above Imari. David drove us to Okawachiyama but the heavy rain made it difficult see very much. We poked in some shops and then went to see his friend Maeda Keisuke's kiln. Our favorite potter was actually based in neighboring Arita. Tetsuaki Nakao...
