Aug 27, 2007 - Mount Fuji ... I climbed it ... finally!!

Mt. Fuji stands about 3770 metres and is the tallest mountain/volcano in Japan. The bottom of the mountain is very lush green, but as you make your way up ... it is all ash and rock. My friend Kate and I started around 7:30pm ... we slept in a hut for about two hours and reached the summit at 5:00am to catch the sunrise. The view was amazing and nothing I have experienced before.
