Feb 12, 2010 - THE END IS NEAR

Our time in Thrissur ended with us attending a pre-wedding party on Wednesday evening. The party was held at a conference center. There were at least 1,000 in attendance. The party kickoff was fireworks. Inside the convention center on the stage was a traditional band. Food was served in a large hall next door, and social talking took place in a court yard. Feb 9, 2010 - SOME FULL DAYS

Sunday (Feb 7th) was a full day for us. The morning started off with our participation in National Immunization Day (NID). We went to a local hospital where several Rotarians are doctors. Since Polio is not in this part of India, NID is a very low key activity in Kunnamkulam. In the front of the hospital there was a table and tent set up for giving the Polio vaccinations. Feb 7, 2010 - KUNNAMKULAM

Yesterday morning we traveled from Kattappana to Kunnamkulam, a road trip of about 150 miles. We were scheduled to meet at a hotel at 9:00 am for coffee, loading the car (a rented SUV with driver) and saying our good-bys to our new Rotary friends. By 9:30 we were all gathered. And as is usual for GSE around the world, the car that was hired was just a little too small. With three rows of seats, most of the luggage had to go on the luggage rack on the roof of the car.
