Oct 26, 2011 - Gokarna chill out

Hello everyone. Gokarna was a great place to chill out for a week. We had such a great time. Stayed in a beach hut for about one pound thirty a night. Such a lovely beach, nice and quiet. The sea was great to swim in too and it was so relaxing to be away from the towns and cities for a while. We've added some pics so check them out. Much love Chris and Petrina xx

Jan 2, 2008 - About to leave Goa

Hi chuvaks (people in Russian), I was away for a while after the busy holiday week here. Arambol got crushed by tourists, real tourists. So just before Christmas William, Galina, Ella and me went to Gokarna,in Kerala state. After a 300rs taxi and 2 trains for 350rs,so it came to 150rs (2,7euro) per person to travel 120-130km. Not bad. Once in Gokarna took a taxi to Kudle Beach,I remembered it to be a very quit beach, but offcourse I didn't think about season time. Maybe 200 people staying on little tiny Kudle.Last year just before season maybe...

Oct 20, 2006 - Bug-gers! (Om Beach - Gokarna)

For the last 2 days there has been one word that has dominated mine and Chelsea's minds - "Cockroach". We've been co-habiting with the little bastards for the last 2 nights in our hut on Om Beach! And I've come to the conclusion that they serve no purpose to mankind. In fact, everyone hates them! You never hear someone say "Me? I love cockroaches. They're adorable - the way they scuttle about scavaging for food". I hate them more than I hate wasps - and I hate wasps. Have you ever had a wasp in your car when you're driving? Now that's...

Sep 17, 2005 - gokarna - holy cow's ear?

We had planned to leave goa midweek and travel inland to Hampi, but the travel arrangements proved quite complex one way and another so we put off our visit to Hampi til a later date. Having conducted a quick straw poll of our Indian travel experts (many thanks to Deb, Chinese Daniel, Nick and Stu) we received a hot tip. We headed a short way down the coast to Gokarna. The aforementioned experts were unanimous in their judgement that this was the best place in the whole world. "The beaches are better than anything in Goa!" "Picturesque"...

Feb 18, 2005 - India - Karnataka - Gokarna

Namaste!!! We are in Gokarna now and it's paradise!!! But first we must tell you about our journey to get here... quite an adventure!!!! From Panaji we took a 'semi-luxury' bus to Alkona in Karnataka, but 'semi-luxury' basically means that the rug sacks go on the roof of the bus, everything else was like any other local bus, crowded and smelling of sweat all over the place. Anyway, it was a pleasure to the eye to look out of the window to the changing landscape. We finally made it to Alkona (kilometers here seems to be much longer than in...

Jan 6, 2005 - Gokarna
