Breakfast was good at our Keylong hotel. Could order omelette with onion and tomato. Today is to be a relatively easy day - only 29 miles. Terrain is much more arid and road is rough: rutty, dusty and rocky. Came to another boundary/border check-in in Darchu and a bag lunch with chai. The uphill to camp (at 12,600') was about 15kms. It's looking a lot more isolated and we're supposed to be able to see llamas from here on (didn't). Roads, trucks, hydrocarbons and mandatory dust clouds order of the day. Time left 08.40 Time arrived in Rarik 12.15 Song in my head - Homeward Bound by Simon & Garfunkel Rupees spent 90 Whilst saying goodbye to the French father outside his tent, I looked over to his son siting on the wall about 20 feet away, and as I was thinking to myself that he doesn't look too well, he just falls off head first in a dead feint so deep that he doesn't even put his arms out to break the fall.
