Time to conquer another volcano! This time it was Chirripo, the highest point in Costa Rica at around 3,850m. Although the trail was longer (14k to base lodge then another 6k the next morning) this climb was much nicer than Volcan Baru in Panama. The trail was better formed, there were water supplies along the way, the views were even more majestic and, best of all, we didn't have to lug the tent up to camp at the top. The base lodge at 3200m provides cooking and sleeping facilities, but it was pretty nippy up there. You have to wear jacket...
