Apr 18, 2014 - How Do You Find The Best Tattoo Designer?

You also have eventually made a selection in your design, and given that you have built the important selection to get your tattoo, the next step is to find the best tattoo custom. You may not find the best tattoo developer simply by likely to the nearest tattoo studio. A tattoo is a lifelong element of the body, so invest some time. Finding the right tattoo designer is tightly attached to your choice of style. It's more of the private factor. Thus, it is more likely that you will find a very good designer through his/her reputation. If...

Nico...

Dec 22, 2009 - No es California, es Cali for salsa!

Sep 27, 2009 - Cali

After a quick trip (2hrs) from Popayan, we arrived in Cali. It's farther north and is in a big valley and is very hot. It was the hottest place we've been to so far. It was easily over 30 degrees every day and quite humid. The weird part is that Lisa found it to be more uncomfortable than me. It's a very modern looking city with lots of trees. It's a big change from most other South American cities. It's not in a bowl surrounded by mountains and isn't full of old brick buildings. It is famous for it's 'Cali girls'. It is known as a major...

Sep 10, 2009 - Cali, Colombia

Cali was a long overnight bus ride south from Bogota but at least it was in a very comfortable bus with the comfiest seats I have ever seen; huge plush recliners that look rather like a LazyBoy lounge. I arrived at my hostel, Casa Café about 7am and got the owner out of bed to let me in. The room wasn’t free yet so I lay down on the mattress in the ‘lounge’ for a couple of hours before heading to my room which was so sparse it didn’t even have a light socket! That’s what you get for $10 a night I guess, lol. Tourist attractions were few on...

Taking the Long Way

Oct 31, 2008 - Cali

Feb 7, 2008 - Cali, the city of Salsa and plastic surgery!

We spent a great few days in Cali with John, Carlos and Diego who are Colombians that we met in San Cipriano. Their friends Roxana and Ana left for Equador the day after we arrived, and we hope to visit them in Quito when we get there. Thanks to the guys, and their incredible hospitality, we got to see a Cali that we wouldn't otherwise have seen - beautiful Pance, with its refreshing river, the results of Cali's prodigious plastic surgery industry, Diego's fantastic music, and LOTS of food! (Thank you, thank you, thank you!)

Jan 1, 2008 - Cali

As I was leaving my hostal in Popoyan I casually asked the proprieter where I should stay in Cali, and to my considerable luck he pointed me to Kaffe Erde. Kind of a Cafe, kind of a Restaurant, and kind of a hostal, it is mostly a family- Mother Edith (52), Son Christian (30) and daughter Claudia (21) turned out to be to most wonderful family, and a pleasure to stay with. Now I seriously feel as if I have another brother and sister. As my actual sisters have been pretty laxidasical about calling me I often have openings for new ones. (sorry...

Oct 20, 2006 - Cali

Patrick on the road

Jul 30, 2006 - Santiago de Calí

Or just plain Calí. It's much warmer here, a bit like Spain where some shops shut for a couple of hours in the middle of the day. The city is not pretty but is allegedly the salsa capital of the world. I had a few lessons, a lot different to the "muddled style" that I was taught in London. Salsa here is a bit like samba, it's extremely fast. Sadly I could only manage about 30 seconds of the basic steps, it's really, relly fast, I thought I was going to have a heart attack! At the moment Calí is celebrating its 470th birthday. There are...

Apr 4, 2006 - Colombia with an O

I have arrived in Colombia, its bloody hot... A little disorriented.. as Lunch is Dinner, Dinner is lunch. The peso is a thousand, but the thousand is a million.. The E is an A and the I is an E,, and the H and J are not pronounced.... I have no idea if this is safe yet, but I think I will be fine... After all, I just trekked though Africa, Can't be a baby now! Wish me luck.. I may need it..... I dont want to get kidnapped.... I will dress like a bum-hippie.. (that will help...) After all, I have been trekking through Africa, I dont have...
