Mar 5, 2005 - Colombia: Trek to the Lost City (Cuidad Perdida)

Cuidad Perdida was discovered only as recently as 1972 (by looters unfortunately) and was the most important centre for the Tayrona culture . The looters called the Lost City the "Green Hell," as it was so hot, there were 1000's of mosquitoes, and it was a nightmare to get to. Gold and ceramic items began to appear on the black market, and Ciudad Perdida, or the "Lost City," became known as such in 1975. Feb 20, 2005 - Colombia: Taganga

Taganga is a small fishing village set in a lovely bay and there's nothing to much to do here at all apart from sunbath on the beach or lie in a hammock! The place is really known for it's cheap and excellent diving opportunities and there are many dive shops and course on offer when you get there. Aug 12, 2004 - Taganga

The four hour bus from cartagena was pretty all along the way with the scenery changing constantly from mountains to lakes to rivers to plains. Thhe diversity of this area is quite phenomenal. Taganga is just a little fishing village near Santa Marta but it has a great atmosphere and is an excellent place to chill out for a while or take a diving course.
