Oct 13, 2012 - On the road again

After assembling for a group photo in front of the old clock tower in Cartagena, we were expertly escorted out of town by the police. It was a long drive and we did not arrive in Aguachica until well after dark, but we enjoyed seeing real Colombian village life in every place we passed through. There was enthusiasm for the cars wherever we went and if we give out rally cards at the current rate we will run out of the 1,000 that have been printed. Each one is received with a big smile and I was asked to autograph one at the petrol station....

March 22, 2011 I left Bucaramanga around 7:30 this morning. After about 15 minutes it started to rain. It continued to rain for another two hours. At times it was really light. After about an hour and a half I stopped and put on my rain gear. It’s always such a hassle. Then it promptly got sunny. While I was putting on my rain gear I begin to feel really really strange. Jan 1, 2010 - Cartagena to Panama; January 01-03, 2010

Finally, we are back to "touring." After our cruise mates' medical emergencies, we got back to somewhat a "normal" cruise itinerary. We made our "technical stop" in Cartagena, Columbia, by anchoring in the wee hours of the morning yesterday. Our fleeting stop allowed us to wake to the sunrise and the skyline of Cartagena. We cruised the coast of Columbia on the way to our anchorage outside the Atlantic entry to the Panama Canal. This morning at 06:00 hours (too bright and early for most of us-but not too early to get up and take pictures)...
