Feb 25, 2014 - San Jacinto and Palenque

We had an early start for a full day to this town called San Jacinto, and later to Patenque. San J. can be summed up as not worthwhile. It was really hot there; from a one-eyed town they had done their best to put together a programme. First we visited their museum with a few interesting pieces excavated nearby; we learned about their hammock weaving and had a pretty poor lunch on the only 'restaurant' in town. Feb 11, 2013 - Carnaval de Barranquilla

Nous reprenons le contrôle du blog après le départ de Maude et Alex. De retour du trek, nous avons passé un jour à Taganga pour nous reposer et visiter rapidement Santa Marta, la ville juste à côté, avant de partir pour le carnaval de Barranquilla. Il s'agit de la fête folklorique et culturelle la plus importante de Colombie et c'est le deuxième carnaval d'Amérique latine après celui de Rio. Il a même été inscrit au patrimoine de l'UNESCO.
