May 8, 2020 - Work continues

Hello all. As you can see the steel for the roof is going on, doors and windows are in place and the rear sun room is roofed. We hoped to have roof finished this week but unfortunately the wind and COLD weather has slowed the pace today. Roofing acts like a huge sail in the wind so that's why the slowdown. Watching final virtual race this weekend from N Wilksboro NC then its back to real racing next weekend from Darlington SC. They are planning 7 races in 11 days so should be interesting. As well no practicing or qualifying, just unload off...

Apr 12, 2020 - Here we go stage 1

Happy Easter to all. The build continues well with outside done, most interior walls up(we only made a couple of amendments) and awaiting arrival of roof trusses on tuesday. Was good to talk to all this week and hear how we are handling this new way of everyday life. I believe we are in it for the long haul on this one. We did have one emergency this week, our television packed it so off i went to get a new one. Smart TV let me tell you, hard to believe what they can do. We are both good here, do a daily check to watch new house and stay...

Away we go 2013

Jun 6, 2013 - Bothwell encore and MIS questions

Back to Bothwell after a fun filled weekend in Ridgetown. Brother back on the road for his 4200 mile weekly round trip to Utah and surrounding area. That's a lot of spreading your carbon foot print around N America. Weather remains unseasonably cool, hard to believe its the first week of June and still a polar fleece jacket most days. Putting lots of Ks on the bike back and forth to hospital to visit father in law, he is improving and will be released tomorrow we think. Purchased 2 new small flag poles in Darlington and finally got the...

Away we go 2013

May 28, 2013 - Hometown

No we are not in Thamesville but Bothwell population roughly 800. Its where Randi got a start on live so lots of visiting with friends and relatives. We only moved about 25miles and I like it. Lots of farmland small towns and old but familiar faces. Have had 2 booming and flashing thunder and lightening storms so far, something we don't see on the island for sure. I can stand outside and watch them for hours. Lots of wind turbines all over the horizon since our last visit and solar panels as well acres and acres of them. Can listen to the...
