Jun 16, 2016 - Fluttering White water

We jumped on the Go-buss again and went to town. We transferred over to the other loop and went to see the Butterflies. This visit has been one of those bucket list things of interest. Very tranquil and calming. Some visitors were quite intimidated but the Fluttering Butterflies. There was one bright blue one, he was too fast to get a picture. We wandered around outside and saw the gardens the university School of Horticulture students maintaining. Then Pat found a pleasant surprise, she found Bambi, all curled up in a hedge, the mother...

Jun 15, 2016 - Jaw dropping Beauty in Niagara Falls

The Falls were amazing as usual. I never get tired of watching that water just keep on coming. No wonder it is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. We did a lot of walking today so I soaked my feet and scrubbed my heels with a nice piece of lava rock we picked up on the shores of Lake Superiors. Had a great lunch at Coco's downtown. We went into Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville but they were only open to sell merchandise and not food till 12:00. Too Bad. Went to two Casinos and then to the falls again. Walked the whole length from the...

Jun 15, 2016 - Life Long Visit to Niagara Falls

This is our very first trip to Niagara Falls or tor that matter to Ontario. We have both wanted to see this since our early years in school. This is one of the wonders of the world, or at least my world. We went online to Niagara Parks and bought a ticket package and printed them out. We got on the GO train and went to the Travel centre to book our tours and get the Go train passes.. We first went to the movie presentation, this was so educational, it is a must see. This theatre was like a Omnimax. We had ponchos on, because your in the...

Jun 14, 2016 - A Little anxiety

We left Oshawa this morning amidst tears and hugs and tight squeezes. It's always sad to say "see you" to our older relatives. They are 93 and 94. We had a lovely drive through Toronto with no slowdowns and arrived at Niagara on the Lake around 2:30. I got out and took some pics of the lakeshore and Frank made a coffee. Back in the truck and it started but would not change gears or shut off. Windows were down and we had no electrical functions. Finally got it on the road and drove back to Niagara Falls with the windows down in 2nd gear....

Jun 14, 2016 - Onto the Falls

Our Hosts would have let us stay for a while longer, such kind & gracious family. After 2 days at our Boondockers Farm we are off to the Falls. It was a short drive to the falls as we decided to try the bypass and connectors via the 403. As we turned off the 403, we found a Costco with Gas @ $0.95($3.61 / US gal), we won the lottery. We drove down town after doing the essentials. Got a glimpse of the falls as parking is a premium. We walked Joe for an hour or so down near the Power generation intakes. Wednesday - June 15 We purchased our...

Jun 10, 2016 - Mission Impossible, Accomplished!!

Ths last entry was in April, when we were diligently working towards our first Garage Sale. Well, we had it, and it was very successful. A couple of dealers, plus the general public, contributed to our sale. Five tables of "stuff" was diminished down to half a table!! The storage still looks like the "wreck of the Hesperus" but a lot is gone, and we can actually see the floor. Since coming home, we have been babysitting our three grand daughters in Maple, so only weekends are available for the rest of the clearing out. We have made great...

Apr 25, 2016 - Storage Wars

So it's not the TV show, but it is the reality show that is our life right now. After a great sit in Franklin, Tn. it was our mission to come "home" and declutter our two storage units. Easier said than done. Number one, we both have very different ideas of what "decluttering" means. Big time. My understanding is, if you aren't keeping it, toss it. Louis' understanding is, if you don't need it, maybe save it. Upon opening Pandora's doors, it didn't look any better than the last time we walked away from it, unfortunately. Just getting at...

Apr 19, 2016 - Back in Canada

Had a nice short trip today, north on I-79 and then east on I-90 to Buffalo. We crossed into Canada at Fort Erie, our favorite crossing. There were no line-ups and almost instant access to home. Perfect! We are camped tonight at the KOA on Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls. It's a convenient place to spend our last night before going home. The reason for stopping here is twofold. Firstly we want to empty and rinse all our onboard tanks, and secondly, queue our timing to pass through Toronto on our way home. We always try to avoid peak traffic...

Jun 4, 2015 - Day 6-Niagara Falls

Left Warren at 645am. Had a great 3 days. Arrived in Niagara Fall, New York around 930am. Stopped at Goat Island on the American side of the Falls. Awesome, you can walk right up to the water. Checked in our hotel. Have a great view of the American Falls. Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. On to the Horseshoe Falls. Quite a site. Next stop the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory. Unreal, thousands of butterfly flying around and over you in a dome shaped building. Well worth the price. Last stop of the day was the 785 ft high ,Skylon Tower. The view at...

Apr 14, 2015 - Back in Canada

Another winter trip south comes to an end. Today we drove from Pittsburgh, north on I-79 to Erie and then east on I-90 to Buffalo. We crossed into Canada at Fort Erie, our favorite border crossing. We decided yesterday that a one day trip home from Pittsburgh was going to land us in Toronto at rush hour. We didn't like the idea of unpacking the trailer in the dark, so decided to make an extra stop in Niagara Falls. We arrived here at about 4 pm. Glenna has relatives here, so decided to go and visit her aunt Alda, whom we haven't seen for...

Sep 6, 2014 - Niagra Falls

After visiting with a ham radio club, the next day we went to visit Niagara Falls. Was beautiful, but not so much fun for Debbie. She has been with back/sciatica pain and the walk back was really tough. She made it by the Grace of God. Hoping for a recovery soon.

Aug 9, 2014 - The best meal we have ever had

We were going to meet Donald's cousin Cheryl and her husband Ken for dinner at 5:30. We didn't know how long it would take to get thought customs so we left the campground at 2:30. There was a real long line going across so it took about a halfhour to get across the bridge. Of course theyask you were you are from and where you are going. Then they want to know if you have tobacco or fire armson you. Donald said no and he ask if he owned any firearms at home. Donald said yes because he said if he had said no he would know he was lying...
