Even though, for me, this is different country with lots of forests & lakes, there isn’t much else so I did a long stretch today of about 380 km. I stopped at Kapuskasing 25 km west of Moonbeam to get fuel & saw the huge pulp mill which has been producing newsprint for the New York Times for 50 years. I also read that Kapuskasing was originally an internment then POW camp during the war but there's nothing left here. It started off as a good day for driving, no sun, no wind but the last 50 km were pretty rough in pouring rain. It cleared...

Aug 19, 2014 - Day 10 - MacLeod Provincial Park
We left our campsite at 9:45AM to head into Hearst (only a few kilometres). We inadvertently (read stupidly) left our lovely metal step on the site and didn't realize it until our time in Hearst was almost over (about 12:15). We drove back to the park, but another camper appears to have taken it. That was the only downside of the day. We spent close to 2 hours in Hearst, walked along the river and stopped for some supplies.
