Basing ourselves at the Spragge KOA we visited Elliot Lake. Elliot Lake started life as a logging community in 1890 and was named after a logger, so the legend goes. There was extensive forestation north of Elliot Lake. 500 year-old pine trees logged in the area provided all the wood veneer used to build the Mosquito Tighter Bombers used by the RCAF during World War II.
