August 14th This was a day I was looking forward to. It was one of our longer drives but it started out at the top of Lake Huron and ended at the start of Lake Superior. There was heavy fog to start the day but it soon burned off and became very hot and humid again. We stopped in Sault Ste. Aug 23, 2007 - Toward Northern Ontario

Did I mention how long it takes to cross Ontario on the Trans-Canada Highway? Ontario is not Canada's largest province. Quebec is. But Ontario's shape means that you have 2145 kilometers to travel to cross it. And I wonder how many people realize that somewhere around Montreal River, ON on the Northeast shore of Lake Superior, is the middle of Canada between Cape Spear, Newfoundland and Vancouver, BC using the Trans-Canada Highway as the route.
