Aug 13, 2017 - not exactly the Blue Nose but all ours!

This morning we decide to go for a hike around the boardwalk at Little Dover Beach Park which advertises a couple of sand beaches and views across the Atlantic. The beaches are not great (especially in comparison to PEI beaches!) but it is a nice trail with many viewpoints. We take a couple of interesting back roads on our way home, finding a bridge to an island where there are several homes. These appear to be cottages mainly but there are a couple of fish boats moored along the way so may be permanent homes for some. It is before lunch...

Aug 17, 2008 - Sunday, Sheet Harbour, NS (135 miles)

Left Canso and drove on the Marine Drive again toward Halifax. The road follows near the coastline of N.S., without the cliffs we have seen in other areas. Along the way, we had another ferry ride where the road crosses Country Harbour. We stopped at the town of Sherbrooke where 25 original houses and buildings have been restored to make up the Museum of Sherbrooke Village. Timber, ships and gold brought prosperity to Sherbrooke’s people in the 1860’s. The structures in the village, with costumed interpreters, help to bring history to life...
