Aug 30, 2013 - to Sackville, New Brunswick

Friday was another mixed up weather day, with various amounts of clouds, and off-and-on drizzles. Our first stop was the Five Islands lighthouse park, that provides great views of five islands and Minas Basin, and then we headed to Advocate Harbour. Advocate Harbour has a fantastic driftwood beach, and I loved walking through it, and wishing we had a big truck to haul home a few of the fantastic pieces there. Cape d-Or lighthouse was the next stop, down a very rough gravel road without much to see once we got there. Last stop for the day...

Aug 29, 2013 - Upper Economy NS

Thursday was another overcast day, and I feared it was going to be a complete wash-out, but thankfully the weather for the morning ended up just mostly cloudy. We headed west across Nova Scotia - passing through an area with lots of Christmas tree farms to the little village of Hall's Harbour. At Hall's Harbour, we were once again along the Bay of Fundy, and it was low tide. That meant that the boats left in the harbor were sitting on the bare ground for the next several hours until the tide came back in. Fascinating to see! Close to there...

Jul 17, 2012 - Thomas' Cove

Chores and errands were on the schedule today, including a trip into Truro to see if the RV dealer there had some parts I needed for the motorhome. On the way, though, I decided to brighten up an otherwise boring day with an excursion down a side road that parallels one of the numerous rivers that carve paths through the landscape on their way to the sea.
