Jul 26, 2012 - Stephenville to Whispering Camp Ground

We were supposed to spend the night at Barachois Pond, the largest Provincial Park in Western Newfoundland. It's characterized by a balsam fir forest. The Park has a variety of activities which make it one of the most popular parks in the province for us to visit. There are freshwater swimming beaches, bird watching, fishing in the mountain streams. When we arrived it was so rainy, and there would be no fishing so we travelled on into Stephenville. Jul 25, 2012 - Notre Dame Provincial Park to Zenzville Campground in Kippens

Our first stop at Grand Falls Windsor at the Salmonid Interpretation Centre which was an adventure in it self to find. Everyone kept saying, "You have to cross the bridge." Well, the bridge was a one way over a rocky river with swift moving rapids. I thought about people who might try to white river down. The stop was very informative. They get about 2000 Atlantic salmon in season a day. They weigh and take a picture of each one. Their individual DNA is in their scales. Atlantic salmon lives around 15 years spawning around four times. God...
