A rare rainy morning as we headed north through the fog. Many, many potholes in this part of the highway as we bumped and rattled our way toward Cornerbrook. The weather is not supposed to improve for several days so we decided to postpone the north peninsula in the hopes that the weather will have improved by the time we return later in July. Because we hope to do a fair bit of hiking in Gros Morne National Park we thought that working our way UP to a lookout/viewpoint only to be socked in with clouds, fog and/or rain would be rather...

Bus tour to King’s Point, population 800 in the summer, 300 in the winter. We stopped by the local store which carried everything... food, motor oil, kitchenware, Christmas cards & paper, you name it they had at least one! That is common here where there is only one store in many of the small towns. We drove through town to the end of the paved road before turning around and stopping at Rattling Brook.
