Another cool night. A great drive south and again saw a bear. Stopped in Hazelton and toured a K'San First Nations Village. Admired the art work and the totem poles. Lots more traffic. part of this is due to the fact that Highway #97 north of the trans Canada is washed out so the only way to Alaska Highway is up the Cassiar. Lots of rain north of here. None that we have noticed buts lots of flooding in the Peace River area and other areas on Northern BC. Then to Smithers, BC for groceries and finally to Tyhee Provincial Park just east of...

May 19, 2007 - Tyhee Lake Provincial Park

Sure enough, we awoke this morning to rain. Guess I'll stick to the weather spot on the net. It turned out to be a good day to travel with rain showers off and on. We had decided to give the provincial park at Tyhee Lake a try based upon the description on the parks website. Like Beaumont, there had been a lot of winter snow damage here as well. This turns out to be a holiday weekend here in BC so in spite of not so good weather, the park was fairly full. We could not get great sites and none with a hole in the tree cover to get a satellite...
