Day 72: Liard Hot Springs to Tetsa River Services, 119 miles. We had nice weather all day, but by evening it was raining again. We're heading toward the prairies of Alberta and soon we'll be out of the really scenic country, but I'll keep trying to find interesting things to take pictures of.

May 27, 2011 - Tetsa River,BC

We left Dawson Creek,BC after a return trip to Wal-Mart for Paula's quit smoking patches and a stop at the local Fire House. Time departed was 8:20AM, now on Pacific Time (3 hr difference). Drove on the old Alaska Highway over Kiskatinaw River Bridge. It is a 520 foot long, curved, wooden bridge. It is the only original Alaska Highway timber bridge still in use today. Jun 14, 2009 - Ft. Nelson to Tetsa River

Left early after a quick breakfast and almost immediately saw deer and our first bear of the trip. It was very interesting to watch the bear graze on dandelions and other flower topped weeds. The terrain is now changing from gentle hills to more mountainous terrain but not rugged mountains. We are anticipating seeing the snow capped mountains tomorrow.
