Aug 31, 2018 - Kayaking on Johnstone Strait
We started off with safety instructions, then kayak and paddle instructions, then on our way! Before long, we were watching a huge pod of dolphins (at least 50, one guide thought about 100), riding the wake of a boat, they just love jumping! Very different angle seeing it from a kayak. Then we saw a humpback whale in the distance, saw the spurt first, ten heard the puff! When it is so quiet, you can enjoy the sounds of nature from such a distance. Aug 30, 2018 - Grizzly Bear tour
Well! I did my Grizzly Bear chant last night, and today was the best day in a long time, weather wise and wildlife wise. Very fresh morning, but comfortable boat, sitting inside. Not 10 minutes out from dock, we come across a humpback whale in a luncheon. It was up and down in the same spot for a long time, and really didn't move. The humpbacks constantly feed before they migrate to Hawaii or Mexico where they don't feed. Our guides, Jackie and Laura were so excited today as we have low tide and this reveals mussels, so hoping the Bears...

Sep 10, 2017 - Whale watching ADVENTURE From Telegraph Cove BC
Telegraph Cove The boat captain said, "Well every day is an adventure". I was reminded what Helen Keller said, " Life is nothing if not a daring adventure. " While camping at Port McNeil we decided to drive over to Telegraph Cove (35km) to explore this quaint little historic harbor on the northern coast of Vancouver Island. The year round population is only 10 hearty souls but in the summer and fall it is a bustling destination with great food and entertainment along the boardwalk.
