Drove up to Moricetown to see if any natives were fishing the canyon today. We couldn't have picked a better day..it was the Wet'suwet'en First Nations day celebration and free community BBQ. Chiefs dressed in their red button outfits ,and politicians of all stripes were on hand for this event. The BBQ salmon and various salads and buns were enjoyed by many and the price was right. Prince Rupert Bound

Aug 20, 2008 - Moricetown, BC, Canada

Pulled into Moricetown fter driving more than 550 miles, an other long day. Had snow flurries most of the morning. Saw six bear on the side of the road. It is funny no bear or moose in Alaska. All animals we saw were in Canada. The campground was one we used going up to Alaska, it is nice and has an Indian Museum in it. Well no one was here in the campground, sites empty and the office locked. There was a sign on the door of the office which said pick a site and pay later. So that is what we did. Aug 7, 2008 - Moricetown, BC, Canada

We headed north west on Rt16 which heads to Prince Rupert but our intention was to turn off at Rt37. This is a nice scenic road one lane each direction going through numerous towns. The mountains are just beautiful and the rivers all full of fish. The town of Houston calls itself the fly rod capital and each town had it's own museum. We pulled over in a town called Moricetown which is a little run down not much there except for a campground with a museum in it. This town is a proud community that takes and gives to the enviroment/land. It...
