Jul 30, 2016 - Followed Fraser river and Thompson River

Followed Fraser river quite a ways. Part of it was Hells Gate, as the gorge is narrow and water is deep according to a historic park guide at Fort Saint James (tomorrow). She said it was the 2nd route tried to get furs back east, but too dangerous to follow trail and water was 200 ft deep (seems an exageration to me). The picture with a rock in the middle of the river seems like a site we remember from 1972. I wasn't feeling well and Gail was driving this route. I think the was much closer to the water - maybe only 5-10 feet about it back...

2016 Trip to Alaska

Jul 9, 2011 - Giant Detour

A slow start this morning as Linda and Marilyn wouldn't quit talking. Finally got away around 9:30 AM and headed toward Jasper where we have a reservation for tonight. Who knows how busy it will be? The day after that we head down the Icefields Parkway to Calgary. We have to be there early afternoon as Kris and David got tickets for the Calgary Stampeded Rodeo on Sunday evening.
