Read and rate Travel Journal Entries for Kinaskan Lake Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada

Aug 16, 2010 - Kinaskan Provincial Park, Iskut, British Columbia, Canada

This is truly a beautiful campground. We all got to park together right on the lake. The lake is full of rainbow trout. The only problem was that near shore it was too shallow to get any fish. I was talking to one of the couples at the campground and he offered to take me out fishing in his boat. The catch was that he wanted $100 US dollars in exchange for $100 Canadian. Alaska 2010

Aug 24, 2008 - On the Road again--

Ok, we are heading south, we still have a few stops to make and things to see but only 1 more stop in Alaska and some sightseeing in beautiful BC before we head to Minnesota and family time. Everyone says this has been a really unusual summer for the north country and it has been cooler and raining much more than we expected but so far it really hasn't had much impact on our visit. Aug 27, 2006 - The dreaded CASSIAR Highway

Well today was one of those days, it was tough. On one hand we did see some wild life, a rabbit, several squirrels and a cougar. The cougar was a big one, crossed the road in front of us. It was probably 6 ½ - 7 feet long and about 30 inches high. What a sight. The scenery was beautiful. We stopped at Jade City to look at all the beautiful jewelry, really nice stuff, It's all made right there. Notice the Jade boulder sitting in front of the store. On the other hand the road was probably the worst we have ever seen, much more so than the...

Knowing that we had several miles of dirt and gravel road we had hoped the rain would hold off until we made it to Kinaskan Lake, but such was not our luck. It began to rain shortly after we left and continued to drizzle most of our way to Jade City. This is a small two store (opposite sides of the road) wide spot in the road trying to lure tourists in by offering free coffee, and it worked....
