Jun 5, 2016 - Go Rest High On that Mountain

When writing a travel blog, I’ve assumed that it’s easier to make my ideas flow better if I reflect about my day during the evening time. So when reflecting upon my day I will start from the earliest of the morning until the evening. So as of this morning, I came to learn that we will be enjoying a complimentary breakfast while we stay on the campus of UBC. The buffet was quite interesting compared to what would be expected down in the Deep South (with boiled eggs available instead of scrambled??). Little did I know, the very healthy...

May 12, 2013 - Canada day 5

We had thought we would enjoy chilly weather in Vancouver...but its been summer all the way for our 1st 5 days here. Been to Grouse Mountain, seen Grinder and Coola the 2 bears just out of hibernation. Capilano suspension bridge I crossed -- yeah, that fear crossed off the bucket list. Did the hop on hop off bus - including the big pink bus tour around Stanley Park, a very pretty area of town with great restaurants, walks and spots to just sit n enjoy. Walked Gastown on Mother's day in the rain, a laundromat close by was our real intention...

Jul 18, 2011 - Day 48 - Grouse Mountain

WHAT were we thinking???? I guess the cabin fever of staying in for 2 days must have interfered with our judgment. We heard the Vancouver news say that the day was to be mostly sunny, so we headed out in the cloudy morning to Grouse Mountain. The sky looked blue occasionally. We drove the 45 miles to Grouse Mountain. It was cloudy but this was the second time we had been here so in the line and up the mountain we went - through the clouds. I have no idea what we were expecting, but I didn't expect pea soup that you could hardly see the...

Aug 5, 2008 - Vancouver aka gay city aka begger and "hobo" city

Sep 13, 2007 - Vancouver Day 4
