Aug 19, 2006 - Leaving Jasper National Park

We started our drive early today in the hopes of seeing some wildlife. We were not disappointed. Just 7 miles past Jasper we saw a huge elk stag feeding on the side of the road. We watched him for about 35 minutes while taking lots of pictures. Todays drive was still through the scenic Canadian Rockies passing through Mt Robson and Prince George. We camped in a Providential Park on Bear Lake, reminiscent of 'On Golden Pond'. We drank tea while watching ducks, kingfishers, otters and a muskrat frolicking amongst the lotus plants.
